I loved Earthworm Jim. I can recite most of the cartoon's intro lyrics on command.
So it makes me happy to learn that Interplay and Doug TenNapel are going to be making an Earthworm Jim 4. (Courtesy of Kotaku)
It gives me hope that maybe they'll bring back Wild 9 (from the makers of Earthworm Jim). Where Jim had an off-the wall humor to it, Wild 9 consisted of using "The Rig" - the most powerful weapon in the universe - to throw robots into a wide variety of death machines. Churning, squishing, crushing, burning, slicing death machines. Sadly, despite its 2D telekinetics, it wasn't as popular as Jim.
